A roofed passageway or enclosed courtyard of shops commonly referred to as a mall. Italian for ‘gallery’ or ‘arcade’.
About the Indie Fixx Galleria -
The Indie Fixx Galleria is an online gallery of indie goods or an ‘indie mall’ featuring a juried mix of independent (indie) designers, crafters, artists & indie boutiques that carry indie-made goods.
Each month a new crop of indie shops will be chosen from that month’s applicants to provide a curated shopping experience, just like at ‘the mall’, but only featuring independently made goods.
There are no actual products available for sale at the Galleria; instead it is only a showcase of goods offered by the featured shops. Don’t worry though, you can still purchase the featured products through links provided for each shop and each product.
The Galleria is very exclusive, since there are only a limited number of spots available each month and all participants have to apply to be a part of the Galleria. Each month, the applicants’ shops and products are judged on originality, quality of product, quality of photography, type of products, shopping experience and shop & product appeal among other attributes.
The goal of the Galleria is promote the individual participating shops and indie shopping in general. We aim to provide a new venue for shops to publicize their products while encouraging shoppers to expand their shopping horizons and support small independent businesses as opposed to big mega-chains.
The Galleria is part of the Indie Fixx family of sites, which includes the blog Indie Fixx and the Indie Fixx Shop, an indie boutique.
