Etsy Finds: Building Block from Paloma’s Nest

I ordered this oh-so-cute building block with inspirational quotes on it for my baby boy. He loves it! He wants to build a “tall towa” with it, but I have it up on his dresser for safe keeping. It came from Etsy seller, Paloma’s Nest from Austin, Texas.

Each piece is designed and hand-crafted in my home studio in Austin, Texas, by me, with care, pride, and passion. I use only all natural materials including fine clays, wood, paper, and cloth.My inspiration lies in the purity of the materials that I use, and the idea that something so simple can be so bold.
By adding text, I give written ideas, feelings, and daydreams a place to rest.All of my ceramic items are crafted from either white earthenware clay or porcelain clay. Custom orders are always welcome. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them.
It is simple in design, but has a lovely thought on each side.
hese little handstamped blocks are cut from extra little wood pieces in our workshop.
Not wanting to throw away these wonderful shapes, I created these “building blocks”…each side is stamped with a something to think about, a little inspiration to carry you through the day.
Keep one on your nightstand to greet you in the morning, or maybe on your desk as a paper weight to glance at during the day. I like to keep one on the dining table to give our family some focus at meal times…some great conversation can arise from discussing such simple ideas. Flip it over or spin it around to reveal a new phrase.
Each block measures approximately 1 1/2″ square, and is stamped with the following words (one phrase on each face of the block):
LOVE (with nest image)
GIVE THANKS
LAUGH OFTEN
BE GOOD
HAVE HOPE
SMILE BIG
It arrived in some gorgeous packaging..My son wanted to play with the little nest, too!
