My name is Monika and I was born in Czechoslovakia, which is now Czech Republic. From the year 2000 I have been living in Florida with my only son. Ever since I was a little girl I always like to make everything myself.

My grandmother thought me how to sew, crochet, and knit. And once I knew how I didn’t want to buy any clothes and accessories for my dolls anymore; instead I just made them myself. I always had the dream to have my own business, but until 1989 it was impossible to start anything in Czechoslovakia.

My opportunity came after the downfall of communism, around the same time that my son was born. I make and design wooden mobiles for people of all ages,( I have shop on Etsy www.flyingzoo.etsy.com) and this year it will be 20 years since I’ve made my first one.

I’m still doing this for living but this year , maybe 2 months ago I opened second shop on Etsy with my knitting and crocheting. I love make things by my hands and I hope you like my knitting and crocheting too!
