Holiday Trunk Show At Mustard Seed

Cloud9 is having a Holiday Trunk Show at Mustard Seed on Nov. 20, 2008 from 5- 8 p.m. in conjunction with the Holiday Open House on the Square. Businesses will stay open late for holiday shoppers including: Heritage Hallmark, La Petite Gourmet Shoppe, Urban Nest (the new sister store to Cottage Gatherings – who will also be open late), Schmidt’s Jewelry & Mustard Seed.

Treat yourself or choose a gift for that special someone in your life by purchasing a handmade, limited edition piece of “wearable art”. There will be a drawing for door prizes, wine, cheese & holiday treats and more!

And a portion of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the Nest organization: Nest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of women in developing countries. The mission of Nest is to support women artists and artisans in the developing world by helping them create sustainable entrepreneurial businesses.

To do this, Nest provides micro-credit loans to be used for the purchase of the supplies and materials necessary to begin and/or maintain art or craft-based businesses. The funds for these loans are generated by selling a unique line of clothing, accessories, art, and merchandise for the home (a.k.a. “nest”).

When you buy from Nest, you have not only have purchased a unique and beautiful item for yourself or your home, you have participated in a proven effort to better the lives of women all across the globe. Through our work, and your participation, women all over the world are able to plant their roots in a refuge filled with warmth, solace, comfort and joy. Beautiful…”Perfect Gift” Poem. An Ode To Her Little One…

I was so honored to find a convo from Angela of angelasheartwork on Etsy, saying that she blogged about my Angel Wings onesie She is expecting and wrote a beautiful poem about her “perfect gift” from God. You can check it out here.

Perfect Gift

There is a gift growing within me,
A life I long to know.
A blessing sent from up above,
Formed through perfect love.
My dream, my desire, at last will be,
A living, breathing child,
A heavenly offering for me.
What praise, what adoration,
Can I express?
The true illustration,
This feeling so blessed?
I look to the heavens,
With tears in my eyes,
And thank my heavenly Father,
For this beautiful gift of life.

Here is my brand NEW maternity designer burnout tee. This shirt is ultra-soft, and super-stretchy. It can easily be worn throughout all trimesters of your pregnancy, and even beyond! 

It looks great over jeans or a skirt, or paired with your favorite jacket and jewelry! Who says you can look stylish while pregnant? I created this shirt, and my “Haute Mama, Baby & Beyond” Collection to answer the need I saw while shopping when I was pregnant. I coudn’t find any clothes that showed how happy I was to be creating  a little human being inside of me. I just wore regular clothes in larger sizes to fit my belly.

Maternity clothes were just plain UGLY! So, I set out to create a line that will showcase the glowing mamas with cute baby bellies, and make women feel GOOD about being pregnant. I print on only the softest, most-comfy fabrics, with longer lengths, and hip styles.

I was a glowing mama when I was preggers. I really enjoyed it. And I hope that my collection will make mamas feel as pretty and amazing as they are!!!!

“Sweet Swallows In Flight” 3/6 Month Baby Onesie in Lemon Chiffon with Violet Screenprint

I just printed some new stuff, and here is one of the onesies. I call it “Sweet Swallows in Flight”. This cute little onesie is a size 3/6 months in a gorgeous Lemon Chiffon with an equally stunning Violet hued screenprint.

It’s printed on a Tykes, vintage recycled onesie. Vist my Etsy Shop to order it! :0)

“Mommy’s Little Angel” toddler tee

Here is a sample of one of the shirts from my new maternity & baby clothing line. I just printed this new children’s tee. It’s a size 2T for toddlers. This is the back of the shirt, so the child wearing it will look like they to have little angel wings!!! Too cute! I also have a design for the front that says “Mommy’s Little Angel” that I will upload soon!

I print these shirts by hand on my silkscreen machine. It is so much fun to take my ideas from an original concept through the process of printing it, and then seeing a finished product!

 

Screenprinting is a process that is almost like developing film in a darkroom (which I learned how to do in my college Black & White Photography courses. which I LOVED, by the way.) I have tons of ideas for new designs. and hopefully, I’ll get the online boutique ready to launch soon. I will reveal the name I picked when I launch the site! I’m super-excited about it!
