{That Which is to Be, Has Already Been}

Ecclesiates 3:1-8; 15
To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and
a time to die;
a time to plant, and
a time to pluck up
that which is planted;

A time to kill, and
a time to heal;
a time to break down, and
a time to build up;

A time to weep, and
a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and
a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and
a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and
a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and
a time to lose;
a time to keep, and
a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and
a time to sow;
a time to keep silence, and
a time to speak;

A time to love, and
a time to hate;
a time of war; and
a time of peace.

That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

  1. I have just started a blog. I was seeking a background. I ran across your post wtih Eccl. 3:1-8; 15. I was raised in the church – was even a leader for a time – but something happened.

    The last few months God has been encouraging me to tell my story; I don’t want too because it hurts. But I have discovered a (portion of a) verse recently that I did not know existed:

    To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven:

    A time to keep silent; and
    A time to speak

    My season of silence is over and I begin (fearfully) but faithfully with my season to speak. I have heard those verses all my life – but the silent and speak had never registered.

    Just wanted you to know that God used your post to tell me – YET AGAIN the season of silence is over. It is time to speak.
