I love photography. Especially when using a fun cheap plastic toy camera. I have 3 cameras that I use most frequently: the Holga, a fisheye lens camera, and a manual SLR.

All the photos in my shop originated from film. I never use a digital camera, because I’ve never found a digital camera that gives me the depth, the grain, and the random quirks that I love about film.

I am a member of the Photographers of Etsy street team, and I’m on myspace:

I work as a graphic designer and enjoy other crafty endeavors as well. If you’re in the mood for some jewelry and other fun stuff, take a peek at my other shop:

I have been using computer software (PhotoShop) to create art from my digital photographs since 2005. I have found that artistically enhancing my photographs is an extremely satisfying creative outlet.

I transform each photograph by experimenting with a variety of techniques and effects, eventually causing a unique design to surface. Since each photo reacts differently to these manipulations, it’s always exciting to see the final creation emerge!

If you have any questions, please contact me.

I hope you enjoy my photographic fine art!

I have loved photography since I was given a 110 camera at the age of 7, to capture memories on a family trip. I studied ballet, creative writing, and art in high school but did not take photography classes. Instead, I was “the after school photography club” and was taught by a science teacher how to use the darkroom. The chemicals got into my blood, and after roaming the US for 5 years (Arizona, Florida, Connecticut, & New York) I settled in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, population 200, and home to Sugarloaf USA, and decided to go to University for…. nursing? Well, yes, I did start the pre req courses, but fate stepped in, and after one summer colour printing course and some credit mishaps on the school’s part, I switched my major to photography. I graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with both an Associate of Arts in Photography (Magna cum Laude) in 2000 and a Bachelor of Arts Joint BA in Art and Photography (Magna cum Laude) in 2002. Did I mention that I drove 3 hours round trip to school, 2-3 times a week, for 5 years? If it weren’t for computer courses I would have driven even more… oh, and I met my future husband during this time, who was from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, a 12 hour round trip drive the other direction. I drove back and forth for three years before we married. Now, we live in Banff, Alberta, Canada, with our toddler, Quinlyn, and I WALK EVERYWHERE 😉

All of my Polaroid transfers & emulsion lifts are ORIGINALS, not prints. Transfers are approximately 3×4″ & emulsion lifts are up to 5×7″. I DO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY.

I have made a commitment to work with only recycled and thrifted materials for the next year (and beyond…). You can read more about this and a plethora of environmentally related concerns, tips, ideas, goodies, and recipes on my blog, Feel free to also check out my art blog at

Ferntebrae – Original Polaroid Image Transfer in 8×10 Archival Mattiff1 $35.00

To begin this unique photographic art I capture an image on slide film. The slide is then projected onto Polaroid pack film which is peeled prematurely. The “waste” side of the film pack, which contains processing chemicals, is then placed face down onto wet watercolour paper and brayed (rolled over with a print making brayer). The result is a one-of-a-kind hand-pulled photographic transfer of the original slide image. The original image can be transferred an unlimited number of times but the resulting transfer will always vary from the last. Each transfer is approximately 3 ½” by 4” in size and is hand signed (both on the image and the mat). This transfer comes with a hand cut, acid free, museum quality archival mat, which has outer dimensions of 8×10.

The first photograph is of the image as it shows through the mat opening. The second image is an example of a matted transfer (it is a generic image so may not match the image in photos 1 and 2). The third image is an example of the matted transfer in a frame (it is a generic image so may not match the image in photos 1 and 2).

Please note that the copyright layer that you see on this image will not be present on the card.
