{loving rebecca rebouche art at anthropologie}

I first heard of New Orleans artist, Rebecca Rebouche, on the Anthropologie blog, “Two Artists, One City.”

Rebecca Rebouche’s metaphorical artwork is both beautiful and  figurative. Her artwork and method of creating resonates with me…The pithy prose as seen in the poetry all around, beckoning the imagination, the beauty of nature and the delight to the senses…

I love Anthropologie’s unconventional approach to retail — how artists are chosen to create beauty, and how those artists then encourage other artists to believe in themselves, and their vision, by seeing them making a living by making art.

The Anthropologie catalog is always a soulful voyage into the depths of an artist’s heart.Vintage pieces — because they have a story to tell. Unique layers to speak of each family member’s depth and meaning. Color and texture. Handmade with heart.

How she selects beauty and splendor to surround, enchant, and inspire her and her family and to create a luxurious sanctuary and haven in her home for her and her loved ones.

{new etsy taste test tool: search & shop superbly}

Etsy just came out with a new curated search tool based on the items you choose, and gives you a list of recommendations based on your taste. This is a really handy tool for sorting through the ocean of amazingness that is etsy.com. It helps you streamline your search and wade through the seemingly endless ocean of wares while also introducing you to new talent and beauty on the site.

I found some amazing new artists, designers and photographers with an eye for detail. And the vintage and romantic clothing picked for me was exactly what I would pick for myself.I really love elloh’s Ode To The Library print:

and theloveshop’s THINK HAPPY BE HAPPY print.

and ShadedMemories’ drops of light photograph

and ThatGirlNaNaNa’s i’ve loved you so long print

So overall this is a great new tool. It would be great for picking out unique gifts for your loved ones this Christmas! Have fun with it!

Try out Etsy Taste Test for yourself today!

{Thanks to Holly Becker from decor8® for introducing me to the tool! :)}

{Inspiration Monday: Did you do something creative today?}

Questions to ponder:

Did you do something creative today? What was it? What was it that made you get creative? Something you did? Some place you went? Something you saw? Please give as much detail as possible when answering with your comments.

Hopefully this topic can spark some new ideas for being creative & be a launching pad for us all to find & share some resources (books, websites, activities, ideas, etc…) that really seem to get the creative juices flowing….

So, what did you do today that was creative, and what was your source of inspiration? Or your muse?

I’ll go first: {mine for today was watching my son play at the park in the sunshine…He always inspires me. His innocence. His happiness. His smile. It’s amazing to get to see the world all over again through his eyes.}

Here’s a resource, too: I have a book called the Creativity Workbook: Helping You Connect with Your Creative Self that has some really great ideas.

They separate the 5 senses:  SIGHT, SMELL, TOUCH, TASTE, & HEARING into categories, and there are little exercises that ask questionsthat help you tap into that inner creative just waiting to be roused from slumber…

Here’s a sample:

“Choose an object, a view, or even a person you see everyday. Study your subject, looking closely for details that you may not have consciously noticed before. Simply enjoy looking for as long as you like. Write your impressions – key words, phrases, random thoughts – while looking at your subject.

Sketch your subject.

What about this subject is appealing – why did you choose it?

Imagine your subject in new settings. How would this change your view of it?”
